Welcome to APMA

8/28/2017

Dear Albany Park Multicultural Academy Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

I welcome you to APMA and to the 2017-2018 school year.  I am honored to be returning as your principal and look forward to another successful year filled with new and exciting experiences.

As a reminder, school  begins promptly at 8:00AM and ends at 3:00PM. Students may begin to enter the building at 7:45AM where breakfast will also be served.
Our student Registration Day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM to
1:00 PM. Both Parents and students must attend registration day. During registration, students
will meet all of their teachers and be assigned a homeroom. Students will receive their uniform
and other optional school wear will be available. Additional uniform shirts will be available for
purchase. We will also collect school fees of $40.00, and take your child’s picture for their ID. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and staff and get answers to all your questions.

We are excited to launch a Facebook social media site and hope that it will help our families and school community stay in touch with all the great things happening at APMA as well as news and announcements.  Remember to “like” our page at facebook.com/AlbanyParkBulldogs.

If you have any concerns, Please feel free to contact me.  I am here to serve and support all our APMA families and look  forward to seeing all our returning families and meeting all the new faces.

In Partnership,

Hiliana León, Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

For families that I have not had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Hiliana León and I am very excited and honored to have the opportunity to be a part of Albany Park’s school community.

I have over 16 years of teaching experience and have enjoyed over two years as an assistant principal.  I received my bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University in 1994 and began a teaching career on the same year.

In 2007, I completed a Masters of Arts in School Leadership from Concordia University Chicago and in 2011, I received my second master’s degree in instructional technology from Northern Illinois University. My experience in education has been vast and rewarding and it has contributed to my leadership qualities.

I am enthusiastic, dedicated and prepared to continue the work that has contributed the success of Albany Park Multicultural Academy. I believe in creating a collaborative, positive school culture that embraces differences and sets high expectations.

At Albany Park, we have exceptional teaching and support staff that work tirelessly for the benefit of all of our students. We pride ourselves in providing a rigorous curriculum that motives students to reach their full potential.

As your school leader, I am committed to providing a positive, safe and supportive environment than ensures academic success for all students.

Sincerely,

Hiliana León
